Pain comes from mistaken identity.
Joy comes from true identity (which some might call no-identity or freedom from all identities, but don't get snagged on the imperfection of words).
No one can tell you your true identity. I looked everywhere for someone to tell me. That was fun, but became a way to avoid myself.
True identity is not something to be memorized in the head, it is felt freshly in this very instant as life itself.

"No one can tell you your true identity"
Alton: Well this ego driven being is now going to tell what our true identity is.
It is LOVE, or in other words, unity of beingness.
Not yet unified Alton, but soon to be.
I can feel the increased clarity, space and awareness in your posts, I love the energy I feel here in your space. I feel the limitlessness, the lack of walls...
Love to you. x
Hi Alton,
I agree that our true identity is love, or unity of beingness. It's good to sense that even on a conceptual level. The leap from abstract idea to living reality is the leap from the word "water" to the actuality of a mountain pool. Ironically, at some point, even the very notion that "true identity is love" may block the direct realization of this...Notions, head-stuff, seems to be the chief barrier or distraction from the simplicity of "what is." Thanks for visiting Alton, and I'm looking forward to visiting your blog soon. Colleen
Thank you Susannah! Your feedback is so heartening! Alton points out our nature is love and you send love- I feel love and connection with you and with many through our communications.
